Concrete Partners
WE COORDINATE
YOUR CONCRETE
A new pickleball court starts with the right foundation. Pickled Court Utah County works with a network of vetted local concrete contractors to handle the base pour — we specify the slab thickness, reinforcement, and drainage slope so it's built to our exact standards from day one.
You won't need to find a concrete contractor yourself or manage two separate crews. We handle the coordination, hold to a single project timeline, and step in with our surface team as soon as the concrete is cured and ready.

Common Questions
BUILD A COURT FAQs
Both concrete and asphalt are viable base options. Concrete is harder, more durable, and less prone to cracking over time, but it's more expensive upfront. Asphalt is more flexible, which can be beneficial in climates with freeze-thaw cycles, and typically costs less. Our team can help you evaluate the best option for your specific location and conditions.
For a residential pickleball court, a concrete slab should be a minimum of 4 inches thick with proper reinforcement (rebar or wire mesh). For commercial or high-traffic applications, 6 inches or more may be recommended. Proper sub-base preparation is just as important as slab thickness.
New concrete typically needs to cure for 28 days before an acrylic sport surface can be applied. During this time, the concrete reaches its full strength and any initial shrinkage or settling occurs. Applying the surface too early can lead to adhesion issues and premature failure.
Existing concrete slabs can often be repurposed for pickleball courts, provided they are in good structural condition. Our team will evaluate the slab for cracks, settling, drainage slope, and surface texture to determine if it's suitable. Minor cracks can often be repaired; major structural issues may require a new slab.
We specialize in surface installation and resurfacing — we don't manage the concrete pour directly. However, we have trusted preferred concrete partners we work with on new court builds. We'll connect you with the right concrete contractor and coordinate the project so it's seamless.
Court construction typically takes about 1 week from start to finish. Depending on weather, the timeline may extend to 2 weeks — but we'll keep you updated every step of the way so there are no surprises.
Cost depends on the scope of your project — a new build with a concrete base is a larger investment than resurfacing an existing court. Key factors include court size, site conditions, surface system, and any extras like lighting or fencing. We provide detailed free quotes so you know exactly what to expect before committing to anything.
